Was recommended this place by several locals so I had to try it out for breakfast. Got here and the parking lot was really full so that's always a good sign. Surprisingly was seated right away and had a hot cup of coffee right away. Jessi was my server and she was great recommended my favorite chicken fried steak and eggs with a side of biscuit and gravy. Was really good not the very best I have had but certainly up there.

No longer live in Russellville but grew up going here and go back anytime I'm in town. The breakfast is incredible, and the prime rib is fantastic for dinner. They changed their dinner rolls since the last time I came and they are so much better than before. Service is always great - fast and efficient. The old restaurant definitely matched the vibe better but unfortunately it burned down and the whole community was devastated if that tells you anything about how much people love this place. They have done an amazing job with the new location (which has seen many restaurants fail), and it is always full no matter what time I go. I love this place and always will!

I travel frequently for work, and during a two-week stay in town, this diner was my saving grace. I was absolutely blown away by how good it was. Small town diners don't usually impress me, but this place is poppin! I ended up eating here almost every day, and everything I tried was fantastic. From the breakfast burrito, to the steak, chicken breast, pancakes, reuben sandwich, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato, and even the walleye, every dish was perfectly done. I highly recommend any of those items! On top of the delicious food, the prices were super affordable, which made the experience even better. The service was consistently excellent, too. Despite how busy they were, they always got me seated right away and took great care of me. Bonus points for their amazing coffee, it's some of the best I've had at a diner! Out of all of the things I ordered, the only thing I didn't like was their chocolate shake. It could use better ice cream or maybe it could be a malt option, but that's a minor miss in an otherwise stellar experience. Stick to their homemade pies for desert! I recommend the coconut one. Overall, this diner has become my favorite spot in the area and it might just be the best diner in the country. I can't wait to come back the next time I'm in town, it will bring back great memories.

We're staying one night in Russellville on our way to the Coast. Walked across the street from our hotel tonight for dinner. Our perky waitress "Maddy" was very attentive. I had a breakfast sandwich and hubby had the pork chop dinner. Both were good and satisfying. Although the pie was tempting, we were too full. Nice place, good choices, and great location.

This is a great little diner. We met some family there and visited, unmolested, for a couple of hours while enjoying the chicken fried steak and the daily lunch special of turkey and dressing. I thought the CFS was a bit heavy on the garlic powder but the others really enjoyed it. We didn't have desserts but they sounded epic!! We would definitely visit again!

Service was awesome, Macie was our server. She was precious! Every worker there was friendly and cheerful. The whole place was clean! The Food? OHMYGOSH we both had Chicken Fried Steak. It was great! I MEAN THE BEST IVE EVER HAD, sorry momma... the green beans were cooked to perfection complete with seasoned bacon. The rolls were melt in your mouth good. I wish they would have come with a real pat of butter instead of imitation spread. I just ate the rolls without. So good so good. Mmmm great prices too!

Spent the night in Russellville Nov 14th, 2024. The next morning we tried Old South. Breakfast is my favorite, and they didn't disappoint me! After eating I wanted to try their lunch special- Turkey & Dressing , but we had to make our way back home. I really like this place. I enjoyed seeing the Owner walking around with a broom , helping out anytime he could. Our server Nicole was very good! Keeping this in my saves. We will be back.

I went for the CFS, but the lunch special was a BLT w fried green tomato! Sold! Great BLT (double-bacon of course!), and the Chocolate Gravy & Biscuits made a perfect appetizer! The Seasoned Grilled Chicken Tenders were also a big hit! We arrived in the midst of the lunch rush, and only waited about 10 minutes. Well done!!
